The park
Eighty-nine houses in the woods
Park Reggewold sits on the Oude Hammerweg between Vilsteren and Ommen, tucked into the green of the Vechtdal. It was developed from 1969 on the initiative of Ommen businessman Albert Vos, on a principle that still holds: whoever bought a house here also became the owner of the land under it. The Dutch address register today lists 89 addresses on the park, each tied to its own plot. So no rows of identical chalets, but generous plots with plenty of trees in between.
Our bungalow stands within it, detached on 1,000 m² of our own woodland. The swimming lake is 200 metres away, the park’s football pitch 50 metres, and the forest starts at the front door.

At the edge of the park lies a swimming lake with a sandy beach and a fenced-off area for children. It is not a public swimming spot: the lake is there for the park and its guests. No day trippers, no hunting for a place to sit — from our front door it is two hundred metres, towel around your neck.
It is natural water with a sandy bottom, and the quality is officially measured: the lake is registered as a bathing water location in the Dutch national bathing water register, the province of Overijssel supervises it, and over the past four years it falls in the highest class — excellent.

Around the park
Vilsteren estate, over 1,000 hectares
Just beyond the park the Vilsteren estate begins: over a thousand hectares of forest, heathland and Vecht riverbank in private ownership, some 140 hectares of it a listed monument, and open to walkers. The village of Vilsteren holds the official status of protected village site; virtually the whole village stands on estate land. You will find the church, the mill, Huis Vilsteren and village inn De Klomp there — a few minutes from the park.
Ommen is 4 km away for groceries and terraces. Cycling network junctions are right outside, and the seven walking routes we have walked ourselves are on the site with a map and a distance.

You book directly with us, the owners — no booking fees. Six people maximum, three bedrooms, and we rent to families and couples. Check-in between 4 and 10 p.m., always contactless.
