We are Ruben & Mariska

The bungalow in Vilsteren has been family-owned for years. In 2024 we took it over from Ruben’s parents and completely renovated it — with today’s comfort, but what it’s all about is unchanged: time for each other, outdoor living and enjoying things together.

We ourselves live in the busy west of the Netherlands, which is exactly why we know what this place is worth. Here we escape it all: the silence of the forest, the warm-hearted people of Overijssel, walks across the estates and cycling along the Vecht. Our three children are just as attached to it: they’ve made friends here and still love coming along — and by now those friends happily stay with us too. We want our guests to have that feeling as well — which is why we deliberately rent the bungalow only to families and couples. Because the peace and quiet here isn’t a goal in itself: it’s what makes room for time together, long moments of enjoyment and shared adventures. That way it stays exactly as we like to find it ourselves.

And we don’t do it just the two of us: Jacqueline keeps the bungalow spotlessly clean, and Dennis makes sure the forest around the bungalow always looks its best. You stay here just as we do ourselves: completely undisturbed. You handle check-in and check-out yourself, and everything you need is in the bungalow. Have a question?
